Ölüdeniz Map — Ölüdeniz, Fethiye, Türkiye

Ölüdeniz is a small resort on Türkiye's Turquoise Coast, near Fethiye in Muğla province — famous for its sheltered Blue Lagoon, some of the world's best tandem paragliding, and a string of beaches backed by pine forest and mountains.

The Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon (Ölüdeniz Lagoon) sits inside a protected Nature Park at the western end of the beach — calm, shallow and an unreal turquoise. There's a small entrance fee; go early for the clearest colour. The main Belcekız beach in front of the village is free, and is where paragliders land.

Paragliding off Babadağ

You're driven (or take the cable car) up Babadağ to launch ramps at roughly 1,200 m, 1,700 m and 1,965 m, then glide down over the lagoon to the beach — no experience needed. Whether flights run depends on the wind up top, which is why this map carries a live conditions readout.

Butterfly Valley, Kayaköy & boat trips

Day boats leave Ölüdeniz for Butterfly Valley, the Blue Cave and St Nicholas Island. Inland, Kayaköy is a hillside of hundreds of abandoned stone houses left after the 1923 population exchange. The Lycian Way climbs south with huge views over the bay.

Getting there & around

Nearest airport: Dalaman (DLM), ~1 hour. From Fethiye (~15 km) cheap dolmuşes run down constantly. Stay in Ölüdeniz for the beach or up in Ovacık/Hisarönü for hotels and nightlife.

Ölüdeniz FAQ

How do I get to Ölüdeniz?

The nearest airport is Dalaman (DLM), about an hour away by transfer or bus via Fethiye. From Fethiye (~15 km north) frequent, cheap dolmuşes (shared minibuses) run down to Ölüdeniz throughout the day.

How much is paragliding, and is it safe?

Tandem flights off Babadağ need no experience — you're strapped to a licensed pilot. Prices vary by season and take-off height (1,200–1,965 m). Flights only run when the wind on the mountain is safe, so keep a flexible day or two. Check the live outlook in the conditions panel before you book.

Is there an entrance fee for the Blue Lagoon?

Yes — the Blue Lagoon sits inside the Ölüdeniz Nature Park, which charges a small entrance fee. The main Belcekız beach in front of the village is free.

When is the best time to visit?

Ölüdeniz is a summer spot — roughly April to October, peaking in July and August when it's hottest and busiest. Late spring and September give you warm sea, calmer paragliding air and thinner crowds.

Ölüdeniz, Ovacık or Hisarönü — where should I stay?

Stay down in Ölüdeniz to have the beach on your doorstep, or up the hill in Ovacık/Hisarönü for more hotels, bars and nightlife at better value. Dolmuşes shuttle between them late into the night in season.

How do I get to Butterfly Valley?

Mainly by day boat from Ölüdeniz, often as part of a loop with the Blue Cave and St Nicholas Island. There's also a steep, rough footpath down from Faralya — for confident walkers only.
