Yes. The Babadağ cable car (teleferik) carries visitors from near Ölüdeniz up the mountain to viewing platforms and the paragliding launch points, with stations at around 1,700 m and near the summit. It opened in 2021 and gives access to the high ridge without a flight, alongside restaurants and viewpoints over the bay.
Yes. The Blue Lagoon sits inside the Ölüdeniz Nature Park, which charges a small entrance fee. The main Belcekız beach in front of the village is free.
Belcekız is the main beach fronting the village, a curve of shingle and coarse sand running along the bay with Babadağ rising behind it. It is the beach where the paragliders land, lined with sunbeds, cafes and hotels, and separate from the sheltered lagoon inside the Nature Park next door.
The Blue Lagoon is near-enclosed by a sandspit, so it has almost no current and stays shallow and still, which is why it reads as calm water suited to families and less confident swimmers. The open Belcekız beach outside the lagoon is more exposed to the sea and to passing boat traffic.
Ölüdeniz is a summer destination, roughly April to October, peaking in July and August when it is hottest and busiest. Late spring and September bring warm sea, calmer paragliding air and thinner crowds. Most beach and boat businesses wind down over winter.
Beyond the lagoon and Belcekız beach, the area's draws are tandem paragliding off Babadağ, the Babadağ cable car, day boat trips along the coast, walking the Lycian Way, and the abandoned Greek village of Kayaköy inland. Butterfly Valley and Kabak beach lie further along the coast.
Day boats leave Belcekız beach on coastal loops that typically call at Butterfly Valley, the Blue Cave, St Nicholas (Gemiler) Island and quiet swimming bays such as Camel Beach. Routes and stops vary by operator and season.
Butterfly Valley is reached mainly by day boat from Ölüdeniz, often as part of a loop with the Blue Cave and St Nicholas Island. A steep, rough footpath also drops into the valley from the village of Faralya on the ridge above, which suits confident walkers with proper footwear.
Yes. The Lycian Way, a long-distance waymarked trail of over 500 km along the coast of ancient Lycia, has one of its ends near Fethiye and runs above Ölüdeniz through Ovacık and along the ridge past Faralya and Kabak. It is one of the reasons the area draws walkers in spring and autumn.
