Faralya (Uzunyurt)

Faralya (officially Uzunyurt) is a scattered hillside village on the Lycian Way above Butterfly Valley, about 8 km south of Ölüdeniz along a spectacular cliff road. Its draw is the overlook straight down into the valley and a string of quiet pensions and yoga retreats favoured by walkers. A steep, rough footpath drops from here to Butterfly Valley beach — dramatic, but only for the sure-footed and properly shod. It makes a peaceful base for hikers who want the coast without the resort bustle.
Getting there: About 8 km south of Ölüdeniz on the cliff road; reachable by dolmuş.
Tip: The valley overlook is the classic photo. The footpath down to the beach is steep and rough — for the sure-footed only.
