Babadağ ('Father Mountain') rises to 1,969 m directly behind Ölüdeniz and is one of the most reliable tandem-paragliding mountains in the world — the mix of height, a dependable sea-breeze thermal cycle and a soft beach landing makes it genuinely beginner-safe. Operators launch from graded ramps at roughly 1,200 m, 1,700 m and near the summit; the higher the take-off, the longer the flight (typically 20–40 minutes) and the higher the price. A gondola runs to the top, so you can ride up to watch the launches and walk the summit viewpoints even if you're not flying. Flights only go when the wind on the mountain is safe, so build in a flexible day or two.

Getting there: By tandem flight — or ride the Babadağ cable car up from the Ölüdeniz road.

Tip: No experience needed for a tandem. Morning air is usually calmest; the higher ramp means a longer flight. A cable car also runs to the summit.
